Had a lovely day on Symi - end of season so not too busy and weather was perfect for exploring. Walked to Pedi and back and up to the castle. Plenty of time for wandering and browsing. The guide Lily was great. Lovely visit to the monastery - if you go you must try the spinach and cheese pies from the bakery. My only comment would be that while the guys on the King Saron ferry tried to be very strict about mask wearing in all areas of the boat, there were several irresponsible passengers onboard who took them off at every opportunity and really should know better.

The whole days trip was amazing...the boat ride out to Symi was an enjoyable experience...plenty of room on the boat...
The only downside was we were there for 5 hours which was a bit too long as there is not really a lot to do there...
Also one of the sponge factory stalls only took cash which left some people with no no money when we went to the monastery, which was also amazing..
Tour served it's purpose for me!

This was really nothing more than a hotel pickup and a ferry ride out to the monastery and the island, which is all I really needed.
Pretty Island

we traveled from Rhodes to Symi by Ferry, this took about 2 hours we then left the ferry to explore the island which is very beautiful. Lovely scenery and pretty houses on the sides of the mountain, and plenty of shops and restaurants . Afterwards we went onto the Monastery this took a further 1 hour to 1 and a half hours. this was a nice visit although it was a bit too short a time frame. then back to Rhodes another 2 hour ferry trip. All in all a lot of ferry time and not much free time.
Symi Island through Kariba Travel

We booked two trips through Kariba Travel, one to the seven waterfalls and Lindos, and the other to Symi Island. We went to Symi Island first and having been super careful with all the covid restrictions on our trip so far we were disappointed to discover that the ferry we were taking had been fully booked and although wearing a mask was encouraged and ”mandatory”, only about 25% of the passengers kept their masks on properly during the ferry trips (mask on AND over the nose). Even so, keeping a safe distance on the 1.5h ferry rides was impossible as there were that many people onboard. Symi Island itself was also a bit of a disappointment as there wasn’t really much to see or do apart from having lunch and browsing through the handful of stores. They had reserved 3h for the time ashore but that was at least an hour too much. I rated this experience 3/5, but highly recommend Lindos!
